Either is allowed, but '...or' is the more common usage
When you do the puzzle online, distributor is accepted as correct.

Just to be awkward - the "Oxford Guide to the English Language" suggests that for most words where there is a conflict, the "er" suffix should be applied to a person (e.g. adapter - one who adapts) and the "or" to a thing (e.g. adaptor - an electrical device).
