Its got a 100% non-reoffending record so should it be brought back?

Yes. Some people do not deserve to live.
LOL @ non reoffending.

I think that it should be brought back but the only time that sentence can be passed is when there's absolutely 100% without a shadow of a doubt proven the offender committed the murder.

No doubt they'd all get off on 'diminished responsibility' or whatever crud it is they tend to get lighter sentences passed for in the end anyway.

Unfortunately there are a lot of cases that seem 100% certain at the time and later turn out not to be quite so reliable.

Jill Dando Murder sticks out as does the Colin Stagg case.

I'm pretty sure both of these would have resulted in a death penalty.

It's also pretty clear it doesn't work as a deterrant
Short answer......Yes
No I know I said I would kill if someone hurt someone I loved which I would but I would much prefer them to rott in jail
Any particular reason Christine or did you just flip a coin?

If Colin Stagg had have been found guilty he would have hung, if the death sentence was still in force.

Absolutely not.
Even with DNA testing, the results still have to be presented to the court by "human beings",thereby open to tampering x

jake i was never certain of the dando killer it alwasy looked beyond his abilities .

as for deterrant ive yet to see a dead criminal commit another crime.

so thats what i meant about not reoffending, are there any real deterrents to anything?

and lets not forget the vast financial benefit by not having to house and feed them for years
http://www.stephen-stratford.co.uk/evans_chris tie.htm

This guy's got a 100% non-re offending record!!
By that logic we could apply the death penalty to speeding motorists or tax evaders and get a 100% non reoffending result!

Excellent
Question Author
did i say that jake?
thats your logic not mine.
i said they wont reoffend and there will be a financial saving.

If however someone was speeding along the roaad and was a tax doger and also murdered someone thern yes.
But i do think youre stretching it a bit.

As i said good or bad?
And ill ask you can you tell me of any other way to ensure that someone doesnt murder again?

Is there another?
Ian Hunter, Myra Hindley, West, the list goes on, the evidence 100% their penalty? ask the elderly who are freezing, canot pay their bills, whilst these Evil scum live with their DVDs, Laptops, Plasmas,OH I forgot, Fully Central Heating, this has nothing to do with motoring, ths has to do with a 100% evil people.
You didn't specify the offence just the reoffending record.

So that being your only criteria I just took it to absurd limits to illustrate that it's a more complex issue than just reoffending.
Question Author
As i said if you read the question .
Btw youve had 2 and a hlf hours nearly.
Have you come up with a definite 100% vway to stop murdereers and child abusers from committing the same offences again ?

Im sure it must be easy ?

Perhaps like you im assuming too much and jumping to conclusions ?
People like knobby noguts should be hanged before they can act out their fantasies. He has already threatened to kill someone on here and has posted violent and sadistic porn. I say death to scum like him!!!
Definitely bring it back where criminals've admitted to their crimes and the evidence proves it. Bang the rest up forever, or send them to Siberia as part of a chain gang. A softly-softly approach doesn't work, and I don't believe you can rehabilitate someone who has murderous intentions.
