I seem to remember it as Potential energy (as opposed to kinetic energy). Do you have any letters ?
My physics is rusty! Do you have any letters placed?
Question Author
None at all sorry!
I think we probably went to school at about the same time, LK !!

If we define potential energy i get: is the energy of location or position of a mass in a force field

relating to the original question: is the energy of location or position of a mass in a force field
Lol, Dave!

I'm thinking that because something's in a - say - gravitational field, it has potential energy - am I remembering that correctly?

...This is more fun than looking it up! :-)
Question Author
yeah you are remembering that correctly! thankyou!
Yes, LK. A body has potential energy by being where it is and kinetic energy by it's speed. If you fall off a cliff, you convert one into the other. It all changes into something else when you hit the ground!!!
...Though I confess "vertical force" is throwing me somewhat!..

Gets "Yellow Pages" out to look up "Refresher Courses"...
if this is the big monday crossword 26d is six letters long and think answer maybe weight
ROFL @ Dave!!

...Teeeeerrrrrrminal velocity!!!!!

Apologies to jjtowns2 for filling the inbox with this small diversion! :-)
That's a good question geminijune, but it was posted as 9, hence the banter. Perhaps the 9 was upside down !!!
It is weight ! It's 6 letters not 9 !
Nooo! I thought 'Weight', but for the '9'...

I'm away for sustenance (liquid, I think!), see you all anon... :-)
