last one - 22a wolf has run off (4) - B*L* - all I can think is 'bolt' - but why?

of course it is....how stupid of me. thank you. have a great New Year and none too puzzling 2009!
I'm reasonably sure the answer is BOLT. This is more to do with the fact that a Wolf-Bolt is a kind of deadlock and that a run off of cloth in the manufacturing process can also be called a bolt of cloth. The clue presents a double meaning of the word BOLT.
