Online Check-In and Overnight Airport Stay

Hi,

I'm about to book a cheap RyanAir flight leaving from East Midlands Airport, and - because the trip will be short - intend to use online check-in. With the flight leaving at 6am, I'd also like to get to the airport the night before and spend the night there instead of paying for a hotel.

My question, then, is can I put these two pieces of information together to create a reasonably comfortable, low-cost overnight airport stay? Sleeping before security isn't ideal - it'll be a lot more comfortable [and quieter too, I assume] in the departure lounge. Will the 'online check-in' option allow me to go past security the evening before my flight?
