When you apply for a job role that involves them doing a credit check, can the fact you have been a victim of ID/Credit Card fraud go against you. I have recently been a victim and had 22k worth of debts run up in my name and this has been reported to the police etc.. but I have applied for a job and dont want this to hinder my chances, after all I am the victim. Equifax said it would take 40 days for my file to be updated to show no defaults but they will run a check before then. Can anyone please give me there opinion or advice. Thanks
