I don't like it when I don't understand the clue......I think I've solved these, but don't really understand how they work - could someone enlighten me?

21A An awning for a wagon in an inclined position (5) A?I?T I have ATILT (and I see pbeach has already answered this earlier - a "tilt" is apparently a name for an awning)

19D Experienced one Parisian leaving river (7) D?R?E?T I have DERWENT
