I love to read novels that take place during World War II. I've read Clara's War, I have LIved A THousand Years, Behind my Bedroom Wall, and some others. I was just wondering if anyone knew of any other World War II novels because I would really enjoy reading them!! THANX!!!!

War Brides by Lois Battle http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/0140276432/qid=1095 616906/ref=sr_8_xs_ap_i1_xgl/202-7513774-9149444 Margot by Julian Grenfell http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/0881910023/qid=1095 616961/sr=1-3/ref=sr_1_8_3/202-7513774-9149444 All the Sweet Promises by Elizabeth Elgin http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/0586208046/qid=1095 617009/sr=1-1/ref=sr_1_3_1/202-7513774-9149444 I have all 3 of these and have read them over and over again. I highly recommend them, but make sure you have tissues to hand!
'The Separation' by Christopher Priesy is a good recent WW2 novel, if you fancy something a little different. http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/057507003X/qid=1095 631498/sr=2-3/ref=sr_2_11_3/202-1206776-9846201
Hate to be pedantic, but "I Have Lived A Thousand Years" isn't a novel, but a memoir. Horrific memoir at that. Try Schindler's Ark by Thomas Kenneally. Although I think these days it's been renamed to link more with the film.
If I Die In a Combat Zone..Tim O'Brien The Naked and the Dead ..Norman Mailer Fields of Fire James Webb Robert Mason's Chickenhawk Not all are WWII but all are real true grit stories of war in the mid to late 20century ...have read all and recommend all highly.
I read Goodnight Mr Tom which is set during the second world war. Its the story of a boy evacuated from London to the country. I read it because my daughter was given it to read and I had never read it I wasn't too sure if it was suitable for her. Luckily I did, as I think she is a bit too young (7). It is so sad and you really feel for this boy and I loved this book.
