Gee, that was quick, thank you all very much. I did wonder if Bangor was the answer to No12, but I can only find Bangor in Wales, do you know of one in Scotland,johnalex?
I'm not aware of one (Bangor/Banger) up here. Nothing listed in the index of AA Road Atlas.

I think it is spelled BANGOUR...which has 7 letters
Hi doogied - Bangor is incorrect, will have to think again. I knew there was another apart from North Wales, but that's in Northern Ireland, not Scotland. My apologies, ja.
