Just a quick query - 28a "Having long thin legs" (7-7).
Have filled in the crossword and have put "spindly shanked", but since then I see answers in answer bank have given spindle. Both words are in various dictionaries, does it make a difference?
Thanks, Steve

As it's hypenated I'd go with spindle-shanks. ( Just looked in OED and Chambers -- neither give spindly-shanks ).
Both Chambers & Collins give 'Spindle-shanked' while neither gives 'Spindly-shanked'...

Many thanks for the replies,
I just looked at the words spindle and spindly as individual works without the shanked added.
Tipp-Ex where are you!
Best wishes,
Steve
