Mac users, I have just bought this http://www.westerndigital.com/en/products/prod ucts.asp?DriveID=333
It's supposed to be plug and play and came with a quick start guide only.
Well, I've plugged it in and I have a logo in Finder but nothing else is happening.
Can you aadvise?

What else do you expect to happen?

Can you drag files onto the drive? If so, I'd say it's working as it should.

But, check this:
Run Disk Utility (in /Applications/Utilities/).

Click the drive name on the left, and see how it's formatted... Mac OS Extended (Journaled), or FAT32, or NTFS, or...?

You want it Mac OS Extended (Journaled), if you're just using it with your mac.
Dont know if this is relevant, but I have a MBP and the USB ports on the left land side of the machine are known not to put the same amount of power through as those on the right hand side....
