Using the numbers 3, 3, 7, 7 - you can add, subtract, multiply, etc. just not use squares or square roots - how do you come up with the number 24?

(3 + 3/7) x 7
Much answered on the web on lots of sites - this seems to be an answer, but I don't understand it (3/7 + 3) 7 = 24

well my calculator (yes i cheated) that makes 23.9999999 so am not a happy bunny
Mamya
3+3/7 = 21/7+3/7=24/7

24/7 X 7 = 24

Calculators work in decimals and they like to round things.
I simply don't understand the difficulty. 7x3= 21+3=24.

As I am hopeless with figures, I must have entirely misread the question? Please enlighten me, someone, (and let me down lightly!)
amalgam - you have to use all the numbers, you didnt use the second 7
Thanks foxlee2, I must have been in Countdown mode!
