When does a stream become a river; when does a pond become a lake; when does a boat become a ship? As you can tell, my husband went to the pub last night and came home with these questions for me ........

Hi smurf
I would say generally a pond is man made and far smaller than lake, and normally the sunliht will hit the bottom of a pond< maybe wrong though

A boat becomes a ship when it carries a boat on top or outside its interior. so a shp can carry a boat but a boat can't carry a ship

as for the stream take look here

If one was to use the navigation lights as a guide, a boat is a vessel up to 50m (150 ft. in real money!!) and a ship is any length above that.
A pond has no inlets or outflows.A lake does.
