I have the same problem and started using Colgate Sensitive toothpaste about a month ago and my teeth are no longer too sensitive to brush. It had got to the point where I couldn't eat or drink anything hot as my teeth were just too sensitive to cope, now i'm back to eating hot food and I can drink tea again.yay!lol

thanks daffy.
i'm using the same tooth paste as you.
it just seems after eating and drinking anything hot or cold the pain comes on so strong.
i'm trying to enjoy a cup of tea now.....
I can honestly say I know exactly how you feel! I hope it eases soon for you,its horrible not being able to enjoy food and drinks.

thankyou daffy.
My teeth have become worse and worse - even room temperature water in winter was too cold for me. I switched to Sensodyne. I use 3-4 times a day and at night I don't rinse thoroughly so I leave a coating on them. It took a little time for the level of discomfort to decrease, and if I stop using it, the pain comes back immediately. I use straws for v. cold drinks in summer, and I avoid going from hot to cold in a short period of time. I also let cold food out on the side to "warm up", like salads and raw veggies. I can have everything I used to have again now, just more carefully. Hope this helps.

sound like its going to be a rough ride
glad to see things are better for you though.

i think i'll be glad when they've all fallen out....lol
I used to suffer from sensitive teeth and the dentist used to put a kind of gel on the bad area. Then they brought out a toothpaste called Pronamel which I now use and the problem has gone away. I never used to be able to eat food such as soup or icecream before and now it is no problem

Question Author
thankyou dr :-)
i've started a list and will be trying them all.
My dentist told me to get Sensodyne gel (not white toothpaste, but blue gel) and put a little bit onto the sensitive area after cleaning my teeth. It works after a few days.
