Hi all,

I really love indian food and you cant beat the real thing from the restaurant can you,

but,

for a quick fix, does anyone recommend any of the Indian ready made meals you can get at the supermarket?

I fancy either a nice spicey chicken dish or a vegetable dish, so if anyone knows of any nice tasty ones i could try please let me know!

Thanks :o)

i don't normally like any of the ready made ones - i'd i've tried quite a few!
They all seem to have that awful plasticky taste.

Last week, though, my husband came home with a selection from marks and spencer. They weren't exactly restaurant quality, but were very nice - about the best I'd say.
The chicken tikka masala was really tasty.

My husband's solution is to order double at the takeaway and then freeze one in two halves! He then has that with shop bought nan and home made rice.

i will have to take a trip to m&s then crisgal and see what theyve got on offer.

ive tried a small few from the supermarkets, but they never seem to hit the spot, and i know what you mean about the plasticky taste! lol ..

the odd time when i order a takeaway from the restaurant i hardly ever manage to eat the whole meal, so i plate it up and cover it in clingfilm and pop it into the fridge for the next day. its never quite as nice the day after cus i think i heat it up for too long in the microwave.
Just to back up crisgal, I can't bear ready meals, especially in curry form but my mate had an M&S one the other day and I had a bite and it really wasn't too bad.
make your own looobylooo - much nicer! x

snow maiden, ive tried lol, but they were a complete disaster lol, awful they were. and im not too keen on the homemade one where you add bought jars of this and jars of that lol

soooooo,

if you have any quick, simple and tasty recipes for a quick ruby, with not tooo many obscure ingredients id love to hear!

:o)
Bless you hun - a proper home-made one's not made with ANY jarsd of stuff. It takes quite a long time to prepare, but honestly - it's the best. If you add me to your friends list on SB, and leave an email addy - I'll send you a fab recipe - but give me a few days, as I'm very busy - xx
Question Author
snow maiden thanks very much!
id appreciate that when youve got a few minutes.
i look forward to seeing how a good un is made and you never know i just might give it a bash lol.

forgive my ignorance, but how do i add you to my friends list, i didnt know id got one! lol and what/where is SB...?

:o/
Oh - sorry hun. Go onto sports bank - sign in with your AB stuff. Think you can just send a personal message to who you like once you're there. Oh heavens - I'v forgotten what to do myself now!!! Once you're in, I can look around and send you a friendship invitation, or vice versa. Then once either of us's answered the other, if you send me an email addy, I can pass you the recipe on. Honestly, it's well worth buying the stuff and making your own proper curry. I was shown how to do it by a friend who owns a restaurant, and if i can do it - so could you! Can someone please help Loo to get onto SP? Thanks - x
Question Author
well im in the sports thingy you told me about snow, but i bet youre in bed now arent you??!! lol
i will have a mooch around and see if i can fathom out how to add you as a friend.
but if anyone can steer me in the right direction thatd be great!

:o)
No - still here hun, but on other threads. I can't remember what i did originally - but if you click onto other peoples' profiles, you can see who they're in contact with (oh dear - this might be all wrong!). Click onto whoever, and then i believe that allows you to send a personal message! Oh help!! Lol!
I agree with snow(ice maiden) as i aso make my own....I started with a cookbook by Madhur Jaffrey.....now my store cubboard is full of spices and has been for 18 years.....When i moved to the uk i had never had Indian..so i had to start somewhere!!
Yes - you can't beat Indian food - the proper stuff, that is. It's very healthy, and not full of additives and rubbish.

The more you'll need the loo as well Loo!!!!!!! Lol - and cheers hun. I'll take a look asap, and accept the invitation. Thanks, and sorry to be so stupid - me and machines don't compute!! xx
I've never tasted a ready made meal in my life neither have I ever had Mc Donalds, KFC etc. Always had and will continue to have home made meals, well hopefully.
McDonalds and KFC are just the pits aren't they? meat pumped up with hormones, either contain too much fat, or too much salt and sugar - yuck.
