Thanks starwalker I was just about to answer yours when the answers from legolassie came up. I am still struggling with Cowshed. I will post the answer when I get it but it is a mind boggler.
thanks legolassie where is park lane and haggate in the burnley area ? was thinking lowerhouse for cowshed any ideas!
Lowerhouse sounds good to me for cowshed.

It's 30 years since I lived in the area, but I remember Haggate as being near Briercliffe / Nelson Golf Course and Park Lane being around Ightenhill / Padiham Road - a pub called the Tim Bobbin ?

Spot on skywalker. Lowerhouse sounds good to me as well but I a still mulling over this. Trying to make the thread between Cowshed and Lowerhouse. Only thing I can think of is Lowing as in cattle, thus Lower and house as in shed. Is this how you were thinking?
yes thats what i thought unless anyone else has other ideas,
what about vikings home -york or is it out of the area.
Vikings home is Daneshouse Danes - house
Hi starwalker. Just looking over answers again - Marsh grass meadow!! When I entered this into my computer the answer it gave was Prairie - now I'm stuck as to whether its Reedley or Prairie. What do you think?
Hi legolassie
I worked out Reedley as reed = marsh grass and meadow = ley (alternate spelling of lea. I don't think that prairie can be a marsh - more of a grassland.
Thanks for the clarification starwalker.
