12 across I've worked out must be tumultuous (nothing else fits) but can't see how the clue works. Can anyone enlighten me: "Corporation last month in front of posh house he left disorderly".
honeydumplin
I worked out the answer this way - one's 'tum' could be said to be your corporation , 'ult' is always used for last month in correspondence - leastways that is what I use - then take 'he'from house and you get the last three letters ous
The answer is from disorderly so synonym tumultous.
I may be wrong but I worked it out, from the end backwards thus:
The construction insofar as I have it is, "he" left "house" giving you "ous", posh = "u", last month is ult ( as of that ghastly office slang " yours of Friday ult) and Tum must be corporation but not in the sense of a company but as in corpus or corporeal - I think!!!!!!!!
Thanks everyone. Big Mac, the earlier post didn't show up when I checked before submitting, but I think there's something funny happening with either my computer or the site , as a whole swathe of the more recent posts didn't appear on my screen.
