thanx corby bet ure a scot eh
I'm a Corby-Scot.
Wallochs it is, although can't work out what an anagram of 'shrieks makes owls clash' would be.

Plowter is another great word. As in: 'the wean was plowterin' aboon yon dubs' (The young child was messing about in those puddles). Are there any other English words for puddle?
I've not heard of plowter but I would (I've no idea how it's spelt) plyter(?) in the sink so it means the same as plowter.
THECORBYLOON, think there are many Scots words and phrases that are also common to the North of Engerland.

It's important to keep these words because they've got a wonderful sound compared to modern English that is becoming bland and characterless.

For example, do you have a word similar to 'dicht'? Meaning to give a quick wipe?
