Having problems in the top left today. I think 5d is probably 'offload', but can't get 4d (T?R-???L) or 11ac (??O?S?IC) even after a double strength coffee and a bacon buttie. Could be 'tar-ball' and 'egoistic', but can't see why if they are. Advice for a numbskull welcome. Ta.

Corks. That was quick - even before I came back to correct my eternal right-left confusion. Can you explain why those answers result from the clues (must confess to never having heard of 'tar-heel' either).
