I've completed the grid and obtained my
instructions (from the missing letters) but
don't have a clue what to do with them.
Inspection of the grid gives me nothing but
a headache and an overwhelming desire to start
smoking again - 19 days without and
counting. Without giving the game away completely,
can anyone help please; am I looking for words embedded
in the grid? should I start colouring? or what??

I've got a bit further along than you stymied but have now reached an impasse. I made a copy of the grid and shaded in all the squares with the same letters, which resulted in a central "circular" area surrounding the black square. I have tried to make an an anagram of these nine different letters (plus a guess at the hidden central one) but can get no inspiration, and therefore don't know which colour to use to fill in this area ! As usual it may well be staring me in the face ! The letters I have are AROLESWUN

Many thanks. I've now got my coloured pencils
out.

Could it be A SUNFLOWER if the blank covers
an F. Might need further work on choice of
colours to 'paint' a sunflower?

Well done stymied ! I was looking for all sorts of anagrams for colours. If I had seen the flower shape it may well have then struck me.
