I did agree that it was too early to ask about the Macmillan quiz but as it had only come out on the 1st August and you were asking for answers by 4th Auugst I do think this was a bit soon
I am not the only one who has ever said on this site that it is too early too ask.
I love my quizzes and this site. I have been a member since 2004 and have asked 349 questions and given 2653 answers. I feel I have made 'friends' here and yet I almost changed my user name after your last comments because I was so upset and now you are doing it again.
I do not know purplebird but when I was trying to find the answer to the kennedy book google came up with the question so I subscribed to it. Then when I found it was a misquote I did say that if they asked on quizzes and not in arts and lit I would give them the answer.
Since you first asked I am sure people have spent several hours on this quiz and so I would not have been commenting on the person who has asked the dinbats questions so why did you presume I would and as I say have a go at me again
Can I ask politely that you let it drop and leave me alone now

I don't know anyone on this site but I liked this section because there was no nastiness that seems to be prevalent in some other sections.
It does irk me when I see people asking questions before I've got my copy.
smouse has been a great help to me on many occasions.and yes i too have been 'criticised' for asking questions too soon (not by smouse or nilesquimby) so now i try not to ask questions. The questions concerned Harry Potter which I wouldn't have got this century,
Please can we all go back to being nice and helpful

and yes, like dotty says, the place for petty rows and eye pokings is in the body and soul category, I must say, it's opened my eyes to see this kind of abuse here in the old genteel quizes and puzzles section.

we have all been new, and asked questions early, yes i have been told i was asking too soon but that is in the past and i find everyone helps when help is needed. thank you all who have helped me since i started on this site not that long ago. i think of you as my friends. cheers T

The subject of when it's too soon to ask a question comes up regularly on this site, and I can see the point being made from all quarters. It is something that I am sure there is not a complete soution too, and there are no rules on this site to stipulate when it is appropriate to ask.

I think exchanges here now have become confused and some comments taken the wrong way. This happens when people get upset.

All I do know, as Diane 1706 says, we are a friendly site, and if we disagree with each other, as is normal, we should do it still maintaining mutual respect. Life is too short, we all obviously like quizzing...not arguing.

If somebody doesn't want to answer then don't. If you think it is too soon to ask, maybe give a hint or ignore the question.

I think this is an emotive subject, but let's keep it under control...please.

I know smouse wouldn't offend anyone deliberately, as I am sure most of us wouldn't.

Come on...let's forget it and move on...
