what sentance do thease affences hold.
The vehicle i did not stop for( without knowing) was a patrol vehicle with a yellow light, not police. It made no chase and i did not relise untill i had passed the vehicle that it had stoped traffic to throw a road cone onto the hard shoulder. It was half in the inside lane and half in the second lane, stationary. One officer official was atanding nearly next to the patrol and the other on hard shoulder.
From my angle and traveling in the outside lane (lane 3) i could not see the problem and that the traffic was now nearly at a stand still. I passed the stopped cars at 25 to 30mph not seeing the traffic patrol untill i had passed. My friend said that it was a official patrol but i did not stop, waved my hand to aknoledge my mistake and creap back up to speed.Avise would be good.please help, canty afford to loose licence

The more serious offence is driving without due care for which you could get a fine (discounted for a guilty plea) of about 150. TRhe offence carries 3-9 points but your offence seems at the lower end. You will not be disqualified unless you have points already.
You will not get points for the lesser offence but may get 75 fine. There will be costs and victim surcharge (15) in addiition.
