Further to the discussions on this clue .......
The link below explains about the glen through which the river vartry falls and calls it the Devil's Glen.

I wonder what this translates to in irish Gaelic - not one of my best subjects!!! Does anyone know?

There has been a great deal of discussion on 4 down of the Generalist crossword -see elsewhere. Where Didymus dragged this clue from I do not Know.

I have e-mailed the Wicklow Tourist Board over this weekend to see if they can come up with the answer

The betting is Bun Na Eas at the moment.
