Thanks Ont-ice for the info, but the inference is that Sir Walter Raleigh also stands somewhere in Glasgow.
Any knowledgable Glaswegians out there?
Might the Raleigh ststue be in Queen Street?
Could you mean Walter Scott?
Also, it may not be the sailor Walter Raleigh but the writer. the writer had a connection with the university of Glasgow.

Thanks for your tips. I think Munden has the right idea by thinking the question does not relate to THE Sir Walter Raleigh but to Walter Alexander Raleigh born 1861, one time Professor of English at Glasgow University where presumably some memorial exists.
