It's of Scottish origin. Auld Clootie - Old Cloven Foot
do they also have clootie dumplings? just asking as I'm sure my mother in law used to make them
Chambers also says - Clootie dumpling - a suet pudding, containing currants, raisins etc. steamed or boiled in a cloth
thats the one eddie. I wonder why she always gave me devils dumpling ;o)
