MM Links Game March 2007 [Week 5]

The link words to be the last spoken by wickedtongue are:

First CHOICE
Fool HARDY
French KNICKERS
GOLD Fish

... and what a great end to a memorable month!

These F-words took some pinning down compared to previous weeks!

There was an incredible one-minute response from athenae - I have only seen such a speedy response in the past from lector! However, only one minute later came Entrant #4 sarumite with FOOLHARDY to gain the first bonus point. In the next couple of minutes, three entrants were to strike to
catch the same GOLDFISH. These were ulysses, FoxLee, evsajo. Since these catches were within two minutes, each will receive a bonus point.

The last two link words proved far more difficult to predict and the next one to fall was to Entrant #20 whose predictions were logged at 09.07(!) The FOOLHARDY
rogerr waltzed in wearing FRENCH KNICKERS to gain the top score for the round of three points.
*** CHEERS ALL ROUND ***

Rather surprisingly, the last link word to fall was FIRST CHOICE and that went to "Bert" Ont-ice. His time was 15.16 on Saturday afternoon (which is early morning in Canada). That threw the scorer for six, I must admit!

In spite of the good performance by rogerr, I would like to give special mention to FoxLee for another good performance with two hits.

Monthly Scores to follow (I hope)
I found getting into the site today very slow and I posted an answer which took sometime to actually go through, which made me look stupid. Hope it speeds up for you.

Good luck
Ah well, early bath, thank you Wicked Tongue for an excellent selection over the past month and to you too Crofter for the unenviable job you have of keeping everything together
Agreed. Thank you both - even if you did lose my winning post.
Well done to those that scored , also a B I G thanks go to the setter and scorer for all their hard work behind the scenes . I think I haven't scored one point this month ! Obviously a lot tougher to find than K M 's . Cheers all . Regards

Seriously, folks, I tried four or five times to post ~ and they all failed to connect. I began to panic ~ but a few well- cosen F-words and a Plan B seemed to do the trick!
At least I got Foolhardy but not quickly enough.Didn't dare put French knickers but will be a bit braver next time. Thanks to you both.Cheers
I really thought you were having us on Crofter - sorry if I appeared glib!
Zilch...again! It's a conspiracy!...Well done to everyone who was better than the Wards...that's probably all of you!!

Thanks for a fun month wickedtongue...and as ever thanks to the maestro himself! Crofter of course!!

Now for the monthly performances.

I am afraid that cliffyg was unable to build on his impressive point score of eight and allowed "catch up" by Pebbles and ulysses. Following on seven points were the worty sarumite & evsajo (I think that was supposed to be "worthy"! )
Always the same names! Well done to you talented lot!

However, I am delighted to be able to say that it is rogerr who pulled off a fantastic win taking her score to nine points and proving (once again) that sometimes the
steady tortoise can win the race. More relevant is that a girl should never be without her FRENCH KNOCKERS (sorry ~ yet another typo!)

Long Live Queen Barbara!

Many many thanks to wickedtongue and his princess silvertongue for five inspiring weeks. The experience has been awesome. I can hear him cry with anguished voice, "I shall return"!

Once again this is crofter signing off and apologising for the delay in posting! It once occurred to me that you lot had asked AB Ed to put a temporary ban on my postings as an elaborate APRIL FOOL ~ but you won't do that! Would you???

Business as usual next week!
Crofter email me please!!!
well done barbara I shall not be able to join you all next week as e are going away (and not taking lap top with me)
so good luck to you all
jan
Congratulations Barbara.Tell us all how you did it? I think I only managed 4 points in 5 weeks. I hope I am more in tune with your choices.
Well done Barbara, look forward to your challange next week.

Thanks to wicked tongue, although I have not been very successful in matching with his link words. :-(

And thanks once again to crofter for all his hard work.
It's like a royal dynasty on MM with Queen Barbara regaining the throne.
(Chants in the background - 'Le Roi est mort, Vive Le Roi').
Thanks wickedtongue for a great five weeks of fun.
Thanks Crofter 'cos without your abacus the dynasty might topple - well, there would be rather a mess.
Congratulations to Barbara. Well done!!!
We look forward to next week's challenge.
Thanks crofter for another job well done, (although I feel certain you said that if I slipped you a fiver you would sneak a few extra points onto my score)?? Wickedtongue is also worthy of plaudits having lasted the course and risen early each Saturday irrespective of a thick head from the previous nights festivities!!
And what about Queen Barbara .. how does she do it ?? .. and don't think that I didn't notice you trying to sneak out of the Freefall Club Ont-ice .. tut tut.
See you all again on the next merry-go-round (S) :O)
