20D: Two states reduced in breadth? (4) ?I?E
Thought it might be WIDE (Wisconsin, Delaware), but that doesn't fit gramatically. The only other answer I can think of would be size, but I can't work out why that would be right. Please Help!

It does fit grammatically: "three feet in breadth" means the same as "three feet wide".
