Am stuck on two clues and have spent ages pondering and the windows need cleaning before it rains. Please help before I am accused of housekeeping failures.

I need 3d - it sparkles in the sun when it gets fine again (9), and 14a - Chattering foolishly incessantly when needing help (2,3,4).

Sarumite - how do you do it?? Please can I know what you eat and drink so that I can get some? Many thanks, not for the first (or last) time.

PS does it have anything to do with the shrubbery?
Elspeth .. it's not plain sailing for me either on cryptics .... it took me some time on Sunday to complete this one, (normally do GK first).

To explain 14a Chatterin (g) ... (anag).

best wishes ;0)

Thank you for that Sarumite, there seems to be such a lot of crosswords to do at the weekend and I confess to doing the GK ones first too. I'm usually brain-tired by the time I get round to the cryptic but I persevere until I'm stumped then I call on the lovely people in the answerbank. I'm so pleased to be part of this family.
Elspeth.
