I'm interested in this word ekistic. What is the noun? It doesn't seem to have any root I recognise.
According to my Chambers...

Ekistics (noun singular) a word coined by a Greek, C.A.
Doxiadis, for the science or study of human settlements.
Ekistic - adjective, Ekistician - noun.

From the Greek - oikistikos (of or relating to settlement), oikizein (to settle, colonise), oikos (a house)
