Whilst I don't usually bother to check the solutions to crosswords, the following answer caught my eye today in respect of last weeks Herculis puzzle.
I can't remember the precise clue, but it referred to rugby terminology for a high kick ahead.
The answer was given as "Up-and-over" (a new one on me), I put "Up-and-under" which is commonly used in rugby union. I have not come across the answer given .. can anybody please enlighten me??

I have always thought it was 'Up and under' but even so the one answer is 5 letters and the other 4 ?
Sarumite, you are clearly right. The clue was shown as (10) letters and could only be 'Up- and- under'.

Many thanks EastEndMick .. I thought for a moment I had lost the plot!
Nobody will have sent in a grid with a blank square, so how can they find a winner?
Question Author
Aquagility, I imagine that for some reason the wrong solution has been printed.
I still have the copy of the grid and answers 4d was Flunkey giving the -U- of under - So it must be a misprint.

Thanks Jools.
'Up and Over' will not fit with 'Nidd' either. It had to be 'Up and Under'
Furthermore they have printed the name of last week's winner - Ronald LEASK- of Edinbourgh. I wponder what he put for this answer?!
Question Author
Yes, interesting, must simply be a misprint in today's paper!
sarumite, let's hope this is not the start of something bad ...
