Congratulations earthakitten - As always good to hear of ABers winning. :-)
Well done.
Congrats to you and, like you, I thought coral was a living thing. Just looked it up and found the following;
a. A rocklike deposit consisting of the calcareous skeletons secreted by various anthozoans. Coral deposits often accumulate to form reefs or islands in warm seas.

We both learned something today.
Congratulations earthakitten, i keep sending entries but no luck. Its nice to see a name I recognise winning.I haven't been on answer bank much in the past but I use it quite a lot now and i am getting to know the names of the regulars!! best wishes Evsajo
Well done you!
congrats, :-)

Thanks all xx
Ont-ice ... well, blow me down. I was convinced it was living so I just asked on hear without looking up. Serve me right xx

Even with news of a win at the moment I can't get excited with Pauline's news in my mind. I hope to God that she will be ok !! xx
Well done earthakitten, I came second to you in the Scouts Quiz, with the help of our friends of course, thank you all very much. Could you tell me what your score was please, mine was 71.
Congratulations earthakitten ... now for the next one!?
well done earthakitten! they say things happen in threes....! :O)
Congratulations earthakitten, and you too Granny C. Great start to the New Year for you both. It's also been great for me too, I won the Sandbach Military Arms quiz with help from many Ab'ers.
Question Author
Thank you sarumite and dustybun ... much appreciated xx
Granny C ... My score was 72 so I only just pipped you !!
Not quite sure how it was marked
1. Only a rose I bring you ... I put give you
33. Oh the towering feeling ... I put And Oh
46. By the rivers of Babylon, there we sat down ... I put where we sat down
54. Red sails in the sunset way out on the sea ... I put way out on to the sea
There must have been discretion used where it was the right answer but a word wrong or missed out.
Impossible quiz, I thought, without the internet and AB !!!
Congratulations Granny C, nice to keep it in the family so to speak xx

Great Magyar. That was the one I mislaid and didn't find in time to start, unlike the Kinoulton one where I only managed about half and put it down to experience !!! xx
Thanks earthakitten. I finished the kinoulton one and got my answers back today. I managed (with help from AB) to get them all right but lost out in the draw, don't know if the winner is an AB'er or not.
I've finally given up on the Cransley Hospice quiz, don't know who set it (!!!!), but it's got me beat.
It'll be interesting to see the answers at some point.

You disappoint me Magyar ... I know the setter well and a red pen has suddenly appeared in her little paw. Methinks everyone thought this one too hard !! xx
Ha ha ha. I'm sure the little paw would be putting lots of little crosses on mine if I were to send it in.

Did I see a posting of yours asking for new quizzes. I have one for Settle Parish Church, comprising of five sections of twenty questions, with a 10 prize for the winner of each section and an overall prize of 25. (The final section is one I'm sure you would like 'Recognise the Face'!)
If you like, I could e-mail you the contact details. It costs 2 and the closing date is 25/02/07.

John
Hi earthakitten - congrats on your win!

I'm a little confused about your comment on the Kinoulton quiz, though. If you know me (the setter) so well, surely you would have realised I'm a man! Perhaps you are confusing me with someone else.....

lol!

ps. Bad luck Magyar on losing out in the draw for the winner.

Yes please Magyar

I am now forced to send cheques instead of coins so could you include a 'payable to' as well.
I am sure I will like the faces section. I can't understand why you have all had trouble with mine. I know them !!! xx
Ok - just joking! I was heavy handed on the red pen too...
Well done EK ...congratulations !
