Is it anything to do with representing universities at sport. For example Hugh Laurie rowed for Oxford.Jeffrey Archer ran (and cheated.!!!)for Oxford.
Just a thought.
They were all awarded sporting blues. The confusion seems to have arisen because some people seemed to think they were all Oxford - they're not, but they are all Oxbridge.
Hugh Laurie (rowing), Jeffrey Archer (athletics) Frank Bough (football) and Lord Snowdon (rowing) all gained competed for Oxford or Cambridge University - so guessed they were all blues.
KK was a university sports star in the US and was a Rhodes Scholar at Merton College, Oxford but I can not find any mention of him competing for Oxford University.
KK played rugby for Merton College and also gained a blue for boxing.
