Welcome to Title Builder Beta.

This small piece of kit is designed to make building your Quiz, Crossword or Puzzle question more effective. It should make finding your question easier for others and, the easier it is to find, the more likely someone is to answer it!

To build an easy to find question title simply select the paper and quiz, enter the quiz number if relevant and fill in the Publication Date. Once you’re happy click “Build Title” and the information should populate the Title field. Fill in the final required details of your question as you normally would, and click submit.

As this is a Beta we only have a limited number of papers and quizzes listed. If you think your favourite Quiz, Crossword or Puzzle should be listed here don’t hesitate to contact us.

Remember: You do not have to use the title builder - simply enter the title and question as you normally would and click submit!

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year to all!
My Gran's old electronic crossword puzzle solver has finally died, and she'd love a new one to replace it. She remembers seeing one that allowed you to put a blank for an unknown letter at the beginning of a word (a feature she didn't have on hers), but cannot remember the make. I've been looking online to get her a new one, but can't be sure that any of the ones that I've looked at will allow her to do this, so I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations orknew of a particular make/model that can do this. Thanks.

I've got a Lexibook CR252 which is very good-got this from E Bay following a post on this site a few months ago. Also I have a Seiko Oxford Crossword Solver ER3500 which is OK-Argos and WH Smith usually sell decent models

I have an ancient Franklin Crossword Puzzle Solver and a Seiko Britannica/Oxford both of which have the ? capability. They are in pretty much constant use, unlike my brain!

I know that him indoors got the Seiko one from an ad in the Daily Telegraph. It was expensive, but has proved itself on more than one occasion.

Try Argos, they have quite a range now.

valerieb1254 - I'd looked on this site already, and was unsure of which model to choose - which is the one that you have? Can you put a blank at the start of the word?

As an afterthought - on both of mine you can choose ? anywhere for one missing letter (so you could put ???ld and one answer would be "could") or use an * which replaces any number of missing letters (so *ret* would give you about a zillion answers from accrete through diuretic to heretic and finally to wretchedness! Oh, and Yorkshire Terrier!

Both have an anagram facility and hangman, etc. The Seiko also has an encylopaedia, very useful.
