Hang about. I think Traffic is an acceptable synonym for Trading. e.g. 'the increasing traffic in drugs'. It's a noun as well as a verb.

Er ...no, Aquagility, "increased trade in drugs" would give "increased traffic in drugs" and that could refer to legal trade.
