Don't like to moan, but I do wish when you send an s.a.e. for a copy of the answers to a quiz, that they'd send your marked entry back, or at least include the questions. Had two back this week, but I've no idea which ones I got right or wrong because they're just lists of answers and no questions. I suppose I ought to photocopy my entry before I post it off. When you do a lot of different quizzes, you don't commit the whole lot to memory.

I agree it is most annoying and is happening more often.
What I can't understand is what they want them for. I sent for my Holly Hedge sheet and after 6 week still only got the answers I had written on a seperate sheet. I never did get the logo sheet back.It puts me off doing their quiz again.
I agree with you Jenny. It is handy to get the questions back with the answers because sometimes the answers can help you with solving similar quizzes.Besides, if you have spent lots of time solving a quiz, sending a sae, and giving money towards the charity concerned, the least they can do is to return your answers. I haven't a clue how I got on with a recent film dingbats quiz. Surely answers could be posted on AB. It also helps to know where you came unstuck if you failed to complete a quiz, after all, you paid for it in the first place!

Glad someone agrees. The two culprits this week were Sandbach Scouts and the Matthew, Mark, Luke & John Quiz, Kendal. Thoroughly enjoyed doing both quizzes, and would have been very interested to know where I went wrong, but just got lists of answers in both cases, so I've no idea what the questions were. Most infuriating.
In the case of of the Holly Hedge Logo Quiz, frannie38, I only sent my answer sheet in, and kept the logo sheet, so I didn't have a problem with that one.

I'd forgotten about the Matthew, Mark, Luke & John Quiz, but it does put me off sending for their quiz in the future.
I am awaiting 6 SAE's with answers to be returned since June. I think it is very remiss of people not to return either our own quiz or answers. We are generating quite a lot of money to various charities, which I am very happy to do,and enjoy the challenge, but at the end of the day I would like the answers.
I agree, some quiz sheets especially local ones are returned with no winners names, it's so annoying.
Hi BJ ... I had a moan about this very subject a while ago and I got well and truly slated by an ABer if I remember correctly but I am glad to see others that share my view. I have taken to writing on the sheet and a yellow post it note with the request for my quiz back. That said I still get some back with a complete disregard for my request. Yes, I suppose I could copy it before posting but it saves on time and effort on both sides to send the original back. Like many ABers I do all my and others printing out of my own pocket so any saving is good. I wonder if those who ignore the requests for returns have got someone else to foot the cost of printing so have no idea how expensive it can be.
What I can't understand is why I gave an answer of Ryan Giggs on the MMLandJ quiz ... very dim EK !!!
If anyone wants a question from Matthew Mark Luke and John quiz, I have kindly been sent my sheet back so fire away .I am sure I also received my Sandbach quiz back aswell .When I find it I can give you any questions on that one also.
That's my gripe of the day over. Hope you are all well. xx
Can I say that if you missed it, we have a new music quiz to raise money for the choir tours fund here at Salisbury Cathedral and I promise that I will send back your marked sheet AND the answers if you include an SAE!

I posted earlier in the week - it was the 8th if I remember correctly - under the heading New Quiz!New Quiz! New Quiz. The sheet costs 2.00, there are 100 questions and if you can't find the post then write to me at S Hobkirk, 23 Water Lane, Salisbury SP2 7TE and make cheques payable to Salisbury Cathedral Choir Tours Fund.

Closing date is 31st December and prize is 20.

Good luck!
Completely agree Jenny

Holly hedge Logo Quiz. I did send back the answers to the 2 people who contacted me and asked for them. I didn't ask for the whole logo booklet to be returned, just the blue form which was not backed with any logos. One the few occasions I do quizzes, I always write my answers on scrap paper or the original sheet so I know what answer I've put to each question. The other 2 judges have over 20 years of experience at doing competitions and they assure me that it is not normal practice to return marked answer sheets. If frannie38 would like to e-mail me I will send her anything she wants to keep her happy. The same with anyone else here. I did the competition with the best intentions and tried my best to keep things fair. If frannie38 is put off doing our quiz again then I'm sorry. Reading things like this puts me off doing one again.
my e-mail address is [email protected]
I do a lot of quiz sheets and like to know how I have done. I have written one for Save the Children.
PLease email me [email protected] if you would like one.
As a quiz setter, to me there is little point in sending an SAE if you are only getting back the correct answers and a new quiz if applicable. I always return marked answer sheets along with results plus new quiz if requested and paid for as anyone who supports my Buxton Mountain Rescue quiz knows. Anyone who doesn't send an SAE, providing they give an email address I send an email with their result total and answers as an attachment. Why keep answer sheets if an SAE is enclosed is beyond me.
