Does anyone know if they made hand puppets of the two spiders Itsy and Bitsy from the 1970's children programme Paperplay?

I'm sure they used to way back then. I seem to remember a friend of mine had some when I was a kid. I doubt you would be able to get hold of them now though....but perhaps I am wrong
Yep you could get them in the local toy shops.
i had those very same glove puppets at the time, i didnt understand why my parents thought the program was so good and i never realised what naughty spiders they were until i mentioned this question to my mother today, (to verify that i did have them), apparently it wasnt called paperplay, it was called ' groping susan whatsername' and my dad never missed it. :-)
It was Susan Stranks, who also presented Magpie I think, and yes, I think the puppeteer had a good job as well!!(Assuming it was a bloke). He definately let the spiders linger in the general area of her 'chest' more often than not.
Re: Itsy and Bitsy. 6/11/04. Ive been to Cheltenham shopping today and saw the yellow itsy and bitsy in a toy shop I think was called "Little Things" in the Beechwood Shopping Ctr, High Street, Cheltenham. Website littlethings.co.uk. phone 01242 254700. I nearly bought it too! Less than a tenner I think.
