Shrub etc is "Thrushesbush" (in Essex, east of Harlow)
Mavis is the name given to the Song Thrush
I think I have an idea about the second one, but it makes no sense with the last part of the clue! What are your answers to No10 and No100? "They might help throw some light on the phrase Tens and hundreds"
Question Author
crofter - there are no numbered questions just sections. thanks for '.thrushesbush'
Okay - I was thinking of a place called "Partridge Green". If it doesn't appear elsewhere, then it looks quite good.

I found it by looking for PART (= some - first word in the clue)
Question Author
crofter- no, partridge green doesn't come up anywhere esle, so thank you, i'll put that down.
don't suppose you know the first 2 questions? ( aren't i cheeky ! )
Question Author
sorry i mean second 2 questions.
there's an old Geordie saying "Shy bairns get nowt!"
I'll see what I can do!
The consensus view on "Ultimate, do say" is Furze (first) but I am not 100% sure. If this is the answer, then the "do" is redundant. I think that "do" should play an active role.

There was a suggestion that the other one is BARNOWL - but it doesn't quite work! Pity!
