why seed cake
That's a good qustion tawmanic and I am not sure I can give you a good answer. It might be worth your while posting this very question this afternoon.

I chose it because it is a sweet and the only thing that would fit your letters.
Then there was the fact that a child is often described as the "seed of ones loins" (ie CHILD =SEED) - or the fact that a young child will often say SEED as the past tense of SEE (a bit tenuous!)
And one definition of meal is "ground seed."
