THIEVE

the sum of ........

THE
IE (that is)
four and one = five = V

The sum of THE + IE + V = THIEVE
I see where you are coming from but this is NOT a cryptic crossword. Go to www.onelook.com and enter phoebe. It is the cardinal number which is the sum of four and one. A mathematical term.
