Very many thanks everyone for your answers so far and yes, Kendal Mint Cake sounds good to me!!

All we are now looking for is the following:

Brazillian Footballers were brought up on them?

What Bertie Bassett has on toast?

......Crescent, Home of York City Football Club?

....... poppets?

Sticky Firework?

Question Author
Kit Kat Cresent? Really? It says Bootham Crescent on their website, but there is no such sweet as Bootham. Thanks for that answer!!
It's just changed from Bootham to KitKat.
The sticky firework maybe the "catherine wheel" that was liquorice......
Bertie Bassett - Bassetts make a jelly/foam sweet called Fried Eggs. That might be it. Also the Everest one, I did wonder about Glacier Mints. The Brazillian football has got me beat. I have been down the coffee / nut route and come up with absolutely nothing. Sorry Kirstie.

bertie bassett could have "allsorts" on his toast!

or was there some kind of jelly bean?

The brazilian one is doing me 'ed in!

I thought the sticky firework was "sherbert fountain"

i

I can remember some PAYNE'S POPPETS. They came in a little box.
Could the Brazilian one be coffee something.
oops--- should have read the above properly.

Looks like this is doing your heads in like mine !

I, like you, am stuck on the brazil one I did wonder if it might be the name of a footballer?

The firework one I thought of the catherine wheel but where does the sticky come in? Was there ever a sweet called rocket? Then the sticky, well stick, fits the clue ?

The basset and toast is really causing problems but thanks everyone, I am getting closer !!

The Brazil one is getting to me too, I been coming back to check if anyone has got it yet. I have even thought of Golden Cups! but it doesn't feel right.
