3) It's a bit contrived, but I think the answer is AGATE!


REASON: There's a Golden GATE and an Ivy GATE, so each can be thought of as "A GATE". If Agate does not appear elsewhere in the Quiz, then that is another big plus!


Any views out there in AB-land?

I considered 'beryl' earlier this morning, Crofter, but dismissed it on the basis that the synonym for 'inter' is not spelt 'bery'! I'm perfectly sure it's going to be the 'right' answer, but I dislike such loose clues.
I quite like your reasoning for 'agate'. I certainly cannot see an alternative.

Sorry Crofter Golden Ivy is not Agate as we have already used it for (This should be shut after using ) so still looking for Golden Ivy ( 5 letters ) its driving me mad Thanks for your time
