Can anyone recommend a book or website that has a collection of woodcuts typical to the middle ages/pre renaissance era? I am aware of the Book of Ages and the works of artists like Albrecht Drer, but I am searching for the stereotypical images that litter GCSE History text books.

Thanks in advance

Have you looked at the work of the Ukiyo-e Japanese artists? Wood block print masters.

Maybe a bit late for middle ages (18th c onwards for artists such as Hokusai) but wood block printing on scrolls in Japan predates most other western artists. Its also alot better!
