25a Goddess of the Underworld in Greek mythology(6) _e_a_e. I think there's an error here, because it should be Persephone which obviously doesn't fit. I think it might be Hecate who is Moon goddess. Does anyone have any other ideas?

I agree hecate
Hecate originally a regional fertility goddess, then with the connection to the earth, and the death/resurrection of crops etc became regarded as A goddess of the underworld, and especially of witchcraft - don't know of a Moon connection...

Definitely Hecate but Wikipedia also has this entry:-

Grandmother of the three cousins was Phoebe the ancient Titaness who personified the moon. Hecate was a reappearance of Phoebe, a moon goddess herself, who appeared in the dark of the moon.

She was, of course, a mother goddess as mike_b said in the reference to fertility.

How can it be hecate when it has an S in the middle
