i'm not sure whether this is the appropriate section to post this question, but any help would be much appreciated. i am a masters student of criminology, who is starting a dissertation. my topic of research are asian women who suffer domestic violence. i am having some difficulties to gain access to interview these women. can anyone suggest any refuge homes/campaign groups/counselling groups etc who specialise in such areas who could offer some direction or advice on how to research this area. any suggestions will be much appreciated. thanks in advance.

You wont get access to refuge details as their purpose is anonymity. Try your local Police Station and ask for something like AVU (Anti-Victimisation Unit), every Force calls is something different.

I am sure they can assist with some information. Further, under the Freedom of Inforamtion Act, they may be able to assist with certain stats.

By the way, do you know the name given to bounty hunters who are sometimes employed to track down abused women from India/Pakistan who run away from the family home. I watched a TV programme about this a few years ago and was intrigued by this silent tragedy within our country.
