Q9 Richard Halliburton paid only 36 cents to cross Panama Canal - what was he crossing the canal in? I'm puzzled at the word "in" as I thought he swam across as opposed to being "in" something. Any thoughts please?

Q11c Think pie-eaters refer to people of Wigan, but is Wigan a city?

Been away so only just caught up with this quiz. Thanks for any help with above.

Yes, he swam through taking about 8 days I think, anyway I put the answer as Swimming Trunks.

11c - not in formal terms but I think it's the right answer.

9 - it has been posted that he had to register himself as the SS Halliburton to swim through. I suspect that they'll be happy with any swimming answer, but if they are being really picky, I wouldn't be sure that swimming trunks is correct - didn't men still wear full costumes that cover the chest at the time he did it?

He swam the length of the canal IN 8 DAYS surely.
