Been doing my head in not getting the correct solution when most are quite straught forward. Anyway here goes:-
Store stocks both red and green lentils. At the start of the week they have 4/5ths as many grams of green than red. At the end of the week they have sold 5/7ths of the green lentils and 9/10ths of the red. If they now have 720 grams of green in stock how many have they sold in the week.

Thx

288g of green.

The way I read it, you’re not asked how much red has been sold.

720 is 5/7ths of 1008.
1008 - 720 = 288
720/5 = 144

144* 7 = 1008

1008 - 720 = 288
It's pretty straightforward once you strip out the unnecessary (and perhaps confusing) red lentil figures.
1800 grams of green sold but I can't work out how many that is.
if 5/7ths have been sold, 720 is 2/7ths.
2835 grams of red.
Well done Radagast, how wrong can you be?
I was confused into thinking they had 5/7ths left from a total of 1008grams, rather than 2/7ths left from a total of 2520grams.
As you rightly say 2520-720 = 1800grams sold.
