Interview Thank You Response

I received a reply back to my thank you after an interview. I was thanked for coming in and that he enjoyed listening to me talk about my experiences. then he said best of luck in “ everything”…;) is this a good sign? I received a reply back 30 mins after I sent it on a Friday! It was 418 on a Friday after work hours when he replied back. Why the “ “ quotation marks and ;) face

Sounds like he is referring to things that came up during the interview.

And no, it doesn't sound good, but it's hard to know for sure ...

I don't think its at all clear. Its unusual to receive a reply from an email such as yours thanking for the interview. Generally the response would be more professional and after careful consideration with either a clear yes or no.

If I had to guess, I would say its a rejection and wishing you luck in the future, but as I say it is not at all clear.
