Another Pension Credit Enquiry

Does the DWP provide a breakdown of what and how much they are giving you in the first payment? How far it might be back dated etc?
I received a first payment yesterday...it's much larger than I expected, and I've no idea what my future monthly amount will be. It would help to know just for budgeting purposes.

have you tried calling them Pasta, or have you not received a letter from them giving the breakdown.

Pasta its quite likely you will receive a letter in the next few days. Often, they will transfer the money, then send off a letter of explanation. This happens with Tax returns, if you get a refund, they will put it in your account then send you the breakdown within a few days.

I've not received a letter. I figure I'll give them a few days. I've also not gotten my winter fuel allowance yet...I usually do by the 21-22nd of November.

My winter fuel letter says it will be paid any time before 23 December, probably no need to worry yet.

I always get my fuel letter after the money goes in the bank.

I'll give this a few days, as I said. Maybe call them on Monday.
The information booklet I've got does say that they inform you as to the amount and date to expect future payments.

the number i listed in the Pension credit line Pasta. I have had to give them a call a number of times to see if i am eligible, won;t know just yet apparently not until nearer my birthday 25th December

I'm pleased to say I did get a letter...postie was late.
My payment was back-dated to June...yay! And was more than expected...double yay!
Also had a letter regarding fuel payment...will check balance later.

I am the same with WFA. Normally I get the money first, letter later, but I have got the letter but no money yet.

pasta my letter for the winter fuel payment was dated 22nd October but the money didn't go into my bank until 23rd November and it does say on the letter , to get in touch if you haven't received it by 23rd December. The number on my letter for that is 0800 731 0160.

Hi pasta - how come it was backdated? Did you reach pension age in June, but not claim Pension Credit till much more recently?

I've been pension age for a few years...but was working until this time last year.
Covid lockdown slowed down my first attempt at applying, then my tax status changed and my private pension amount changed.
They set the date for the back payment.
