55. ukulele
55

The ukulele originated in the 19th century as a Hawaiian adaptation of the Portuguese machete,[4] a small guitar-like instrument, which was introduced to Hawaii by Portuguese immigrants
24 seen as cello
Re 24 above:
The explanation given elsewhere on AB for the answer 'cello' is that Andrew Lloyd-Webber's brother, Julian, plays that instrument.
12. glockenspiel
Are you sure that No 11 has 12 letters? I answered it the other day as either 'alphorn' or 'alpenhorn' (I can't remember which), which matched the number of letters given by the earlier questioner.

(Alphorns, or alpenhorns, were traditionally used to communicate from one side of a valley to the other in Switzerland)
Sorry previous post should say no. 11 not 12!
