Anyone else get a 'flat' feeling on new years day?
Should be looking forward to a brand new year full of opportunities. Instead, feel like a wet fish.

new year's day is just another day. Some times you feel up, sometimes you feel down, but changing the calendar won't change your mood. What you might want to look forward to is the days getting longer and sunshine returning to the earth, that's the real reason for midwinter festivals after all.

But as it looks like the weather will turn for the worse, I'm not my usual perky self either.

Happy new year anyway, nailit
No, I feel positive but I guess as the party's over things could be a bit flat. That's probably why people go for a good walk on Boxing Day and NY Day - gets the feel good hormones going.
Yep very flat, only one more day then back to work. My last 2 weeks leave seemed to have flown by and my body clock is all wrong for getting up with the alarm on Thursday- plus I hate January and February, they really drag.

True jno! Looking forward to getting back to (my voluntary) work tomorrow tho and getting back to normal. Happy new year to you as well :-)

Did think of going for a bike ride earlier 237, wish I had off done now.

From past experience I agree, roll on summer...
I'm fed up at the idea of work tomorrow. And the thought of organising a wedding in 5 months
Its not one of my favourite days, to be honest. Nothings open, and everyone who owns a pair of shoes and a wooly hat is out for a walk. 4x4s blocking the lanes and clogging up the coast.

We had a local walk this morning and then watched TV, and a film, and eaten our way through the last of the Christmas food. About to pour a glass of something and looking forward to the programme about the Amazon River at 9pm.

I`ve already been back to work. I think sitting about for the whole holiday in the middle of winter would be enough to depress anyone.
Today seems to have dragged - and the kids are bored silly and they’ve still got a week off school.
Just means you're floundering, nailit.

Onwards and upwards to Burn's Night ya wee sleekit beastie. :-)
Just another day.
I went into work on Thursday last week and yesterday, I'm back again tomorrow and for the rest of the week. Suits me fine.

if I had the chance of working over the xmas period I would have done...
I still have 20 more days signed off so every day is just like the last
It's been Sunday all day here. What day is it, actually?
Well, Mr U thought it was Thursday yesterday, so it must be Friday Tilly.
It feels like it has been Sunday for a long, long time. I am looking forward to getting back to normal.
I feel like a wet fish since Nailit has not mentioned me as one of his highlights for 2018. I am gutted!

Aww Tills, only just re-read that thread! Goes without saying.
Just didn't want to be accused of being some kind of sychophant.
That was certainly one highlight of my past year ;-)
Too late, Nails. The damage is done!
